The Artist
Antonis Vrettas
Painter · Watercolors · Drawings · Murals
Antonis Vrettas is a Greek painter whose work moves between the intimate and the monumental: carefully observed botanical studies and still lifes, birds and animals rendered in close detail, architectural memories of doors, gates and houses — and murals painted directly onto the walls of interiors and public spaces.
Working primarily in watercolor and drawing, with easel works in acrylic and oil, he returns repeatedly to the textures of the natural world: the skin of a pear, the fold of a dried leaf, the gaze of an owl. His commissioned murals bring the same attention to rooms and buildings, transforming walls into landscapes.
